The high 40 or low 50 am wanting to get new lcd tv is usually better than other brands like sony panasonic and samsung which brand of tv its gonna be some where in the price is usually better than other.
my friend just bought a 42″ 1080p vizio and to be honest it looks pretty good for a budget tv. Not quite as good as my 50″ samsung but still pretty good

Looking at the ratings in Consumer Reports, the Vizio sets are usually about 15 to 25% cheaper than the Samsungs (i.e. $900 vs. $1200 for similar sets), but the Samsungs are all top rated with every size above 40 inches. Mine is a 46-inch Samsung that was not the cheapest set in the store, but I’d definitely buy it again.
