      Push the button on the side of the flash housing and pop it up. It’ll always fire then.

      Otherwise, in the full auto mode, it will only pop up when the camera thinks it’s needed.

      Pop-up flash is for noobies. Don’t use it unless you really really really need to. It makes everything flat and 2D. If anything, you need to get an external flash and use bounce flash off of walls or ceilings to get good results.
