Looking down onto to top of the camera there is a shooting mode button on the right hand side, just bellow the shutter release button.
Press and hold this down whilst rotating the rear dial. The LCD on the top of the camera will scroll through the shooting options, when the little circular clock type symbol is shown the camera is in self timer mode.

      Hope that helps :-)

Jules is right. I’ll just try to add a few things. The button Jules is talking about has a rectangle on it with a couple more lines on the right and the bottom.

To vary the amount of delay you have to go into the menu. The Custom Setting Menu has a selection for “Self Timer”. You can choose how much delay you want from 2, 5, 10, or 20 seconds.
